Allen Drysdale Held at Luna Park Sydney the Yamaha 2006 scooter show was a showcase of Yamaha's currently ranged models in Australia in the upcoming year.
The Models showcased were the new Vino 50 and 125 as well as the Cygnus 125 and Bee wee 100.
Other models like the Jog 50, the sporty Aerox 50 and the maxi scooters the T-Max and the Magesty 400 were also on display.
Those that attended were treated to beautiful views across the harbour as well as a visit from TV personality Grant Denyer.
Grant a Yamaha advocate blessed the Yamaha scooter range saying that there was a scooter that would suit anybody ready to save time and money.
Yamaha who has launched a national TV campaign showing off there new scooter range believes that scooters are the answer to the problems of parking, traffic, congestion, economy and the environment.
And we would have to agree that scooters do all of this, they are economical, provide weather protection for the rider, provide storage and give you a convenience that brings peace of mind.
Yamahas finance arm YMF is also offering there own piece of mind. Until the 31/12/2006 through participating dealers there is no application fee and special low interest rates on the entire Yamaha scooter range.
The day concluded with a trip to Chatswood where we saw just how easy it is to scoot and shop. Yamaha provided some Yamaha dollars and the willing participants provided the spending. But the whole exercise was an example of just how easy it is to use a scooter to go when you want and where you want. Each Yamaha scooter handled the expedition with ease and provided enough space to store our goodies for the trip home.
Yamaha has seen the market growing in Australia and as such is now serious about providing a range that will suit most.
The new scooters like the Vino, Bee wee and Cygnus all have positives.
The Cygnus has a huge underseat storage area as well as nice touches like dual rear shocks and a solid quality feel about it.
The Cygnus is available in Silver and Eclipse(black)
The Vino is stylish and silent and looks the goods on the road.
The 50 cc Vino is available in Shiraz, Silver, Midnight
The 125cc Vino is available in Blue, Stardust
The Bee wee is sporty and surprisingly quick as it runs a 2 stroke 101 cc motor.
The Bee wee is available in Yellow, Blue, Red and Stardust
The Aerox 50 is liquid cooled and has dual disc brakes and a big enough storage space to swallow a full faced helmet.
The Aerox 50 is available in two new colours Azure and Cyclone

Yamaha Motor Australia is preparing to expand into the burgeoning scooter market with the addition of a whole new range of scooters, the appointment of an extensive
retail network and intensive media campaign.
In addition to the existing CV50A Jog, YQ50 , Aerox,YP400 Majesty and XP500 TMax, Yamaha has unveiled three new models available in dealers now. These are XC50 Vino, XC125 Vino and NXC125 Cygnus. Two further models, the YW100 BeeWees and XC250 XMax are due to arrive later this year.
Many existing Yamaha motorcycle dealers have taken up the opportunity to become Yamaha scooter dealers in order to satisfy demand. In addition, YMA has also appointed specialist Yamaha scooter dealers to retail the expanded model
range. All dealers will be easily recognized with shop front signage and point of sale material.
In order to announce the extension of Yamaha’s scooter business, YMA has invested in an intensive promotional
campaign targeting mainstream media channels with press ads, television commercials and outdoor advertising.
“The scooter market has grown exponentially over the last few years largely as a result of Yamaha takes the scooter market by storm with the launch of many new models such as Vino 50 and 125 and XC125 Cygnus adding to the existing five model range rising fuel prices. Yamaha is serious about its presence in this market and always prefers to operate on a large scale. Our aim is to be the number one player in the scooter market. We have the products, the dealer network, the warranty, service and parts backup and the ability to offer convenient finance at great rates to be able to achieve this goal,” explains YMA Director/General Manager Steven Cotterell.
Soon Yamaha will boast nine keenly priced models in its scooter range, representing all capacities and styles.
Existing Yamaha dealers and specialist scooter dealers will take care of the increased business generated by the current scooter boom
