Media Release Yamaha Aerox trick new colours Previous World record holder for distance for a 50cc scooter in 24hrs is now available in two new trick colours
Yamaha Australia
High technology, high performance and an appearance to match gives Yamaha’s Aerox scooter the sales edge.
And with its liquid-cooled engine, sharp handling and disc brakes front and rear, the 2006 model scooter is sure to appeal to petrolheads as well as fashion gurus.
The look is straight from the track with no detail overlooked. A full instrument panel is fitted and even the fuel filler cap is an attention grabbing aviation- style design. Aerox is a supersport scooter but practical too, with a generous helmet bay storage area and dual seat.
But is it reliable? A reasonable question that Aerox can answer by displaying its Guinness World Record for endurance.
YQ50 Aerox available in funky Fine Silver and Yamaha Blue
In 2005, a similar production model Aerox scooter smashed the Scooter 50cc World Endurance record for most kilometres covered in 24 hours.
Local rider Mark ‘Brownie’ Brown rode a YQ50 a distance of 928km
at the Le Minz Scooterthon held at Melbourne’s Grand Prix Training Centre. This distance comfortably beat the previous record held by Honda. Brownie didn’t encounter a single problem on his record breaking run, a feat that highlights the fault-free performance of Yamaha’s YQ50 Aerox.
