Aprilia "Scarabeo"

Scootermarket in Victoria pulls out three great 250 cc scooters and makes them even better.

Words and Pictures by Jason Tubnor

Australia is a vast country and with such great distances to travel, there is a greater need for transport that has the legs to get the job done. This is where Aprilia and ScooterMarket can help to make it simple to tour and commute in this great land.

Aprilia has increased the Scarabeo 250 line-up by one with the Scarabeo Light. ScooterMarket then took the initiative to introduce the Scarabeo GTT to round out the line-up and give riders or prospective riders something to meet their requirements and price range.

The Scarabeo 250 Light makes its first appearance in Australia after taking Europe by storm. It gives the rider an entry into the large scooter market without the bulk of a maxi. The Light comes standard with a small screen and small top box.

For the rider looking for more room to carry their luggage or a bit more protection from the elements, the Scarabeo 250 GT with its GT wind shield, wind deflectors for the riders hands and a very spacious top box, will deliver the goods. The quality fitted top box is colour-coded to match the scooter and the incorporated, high mount stop light, is wired into the scooter’s braking system to give trailing motorists extra warning from a greater distance.

The ultimate in Grand Touring scooters, ScooterMarket has produced the custom Scarabeo 250 GTT model. This model comes with all of the features listed with the GT model as well as hard-cased, colour-coded panniers and full-sized weather shield replacing the standard GT screen. The screen comes with two choices, a full-sized, large screen to keep both the rider and passenger protected or a slightly smaller screen for those who prefer something that is not quite as large. This scooter is ready to take on some serious kilometres without the rider and/or passenger having to compromise and leave gear at home through lack of storage and with adequate weather protection.

All the Aprilia Scarabeo 250 models come with a single cylinder, 244cc SOHC 4 valved water cooled engine, automatic gearbox, 36mm telescopic forks for the front suspension and pre-load adjustable rear, linked braking controlling the front and rear disk brakes, 16 inch wheels at both ends and a 9.5 litre fuel tank.

Right now is the time to check out these Scarabeo 250's down at ScooterMarket with Marie and Tony, having sharpened their pencils, offering some seriously keen prices. The Aprilia Scarabeo 250 Light is priced at $6990* ride away, the Scarabeo 250 GT is going for $7990* ride away and the ScooterMarket Scarabeo GTT is an unbelievable $8990* ride away. All colour options are in stock and most customers can ride away the same day.

ScooterMarket also has a wide range of accessories available for yourself and your new Scarabeo to complete the total package. So if your are in the market for a new scooter and one that you can enjoy on the weekend too, pop into ScooterMarket and check out the Aprilia Scarabeo 250. It won't disappoint.

* Prices are for Victorian registration only, please enquire at ScooterMarket for other pricing.
