Derbi Rambla

Take the popular Aprilia Sportcity and give it a little tickle and you end up with the new Derbi Rambla.

Derbi

We should be seeing Derbi in Australia shortly with the release of the long awaited GP1 250.

Till then here is a Derbi update. The New Derbi Rambla has been created from the partnership within the Piaggio stable and yes it does look a little like the Aprilia Sportcity.

Not yet known if it will join it's sportier cousin the GP1 on Australian shores here is Derbi's own summary on the new scooter aimed at the "younger" segment.

..............

Designed for the younger cosmopolitan segment, the Derbi Rambla is as daring as the blend of styles that fill our streets. As agile and frantic as modern life, practical, comfortable and safe as efficient mobility requires. All in all, fascinating as the city itself.

The Derbi Rambla’s versatility begins in its own mechanical heart. The new scooter hits our streets with 125cc and 250cc injection engines, guaranteeing a wide range of uses for all transportation requirements.

The Derbi Rambla stands out for its ease of ride, its generous storage compartments, and precise and efficient braking, thanks to the 260mm front-disc braking system (dual disc in the 250i version) and 220mm rear brake. Moreover, it is worth noting the safety offered by the large 15-inch wheels, the suspension and the entire braking system, for greater stability and riding comfort, positioning it as the most sportive high-wheel scooter on the market.

The Derbi Rambla 125 cc model has a single-cylinder 4-stroke, 4-valve Euro3 engine that produces a power of 11 kW (15 HP). Aimed at the younger market, it has been designed with urban mobility in mind.

The model is compatible with type-B driver’s license. It also incorporates a front (260mm) and back (220mm) disc-brake system for efficient, precise braking.

The Derbi Rambla 250i features a single cylinder 4-stroke, Euro3 valve engine and 244cc electronic injection and 16.5 kW (22.5 CV) power, with tested efficiency for lower consumption and reduced emissions. It has an extended range, making it a perfect choice for travel outside urban limits. Moreover, the dual front disc (2x260mm) allows for greater braking capacity and safety.

Both models come in two colours: the Rambla 125cc is available in black or white, and the 250i version comes in black or blue. The new Rambla 125/250i is available now throughout the entire network of Derbi dealers.

Derbi Rambla Users gain new experiences in urban freedom

Rambla users are young, with an urban spirit, always up-to-date and, above all, they value their freedom of movement. Young men and women who live the city intensely, who go out for fun, who study and  work, who are at the avant-garde of contemporary trends

The Derbi Rambla meets all the demands of this segment. With regard to its looks, it is a sophisticated, distinctive scooter, in which every last detail has been painstakingly thought out to satisfy the tastes of today’s urban youth. Additionally, it has a vibrant, sportive personality: a reflection of the dynamic life of its users. And moreover, given its practical design, it's the ideal means of transportation for everyday use.

In our major cities (Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Seville, but also Rome, Milan, Paris and London), future users of the Derbi Rambla will probably have already ridden other scooters or motorcycles. Whether this is true or not, they will discover a completely different way of travelling, one that is safer, livelier, more intelligent—in short, freer.
