Bundaberg to Rockhampton Day 9 - Ride For Autism We keep heading north with some tough long riding days. This time its on to lovely Rockhampton.
Chris Newbold The Ride for Autism had an amazing morning we started at 6.30am in Bundaberg where the Ulysses club led by Ron escorted us out of town towards Gin Gin. That was my first experience of riding in a large group of bikes it was an incredible experience. Thank you Ron and the members of the Ulysses motor cycles club for joining us. And Ron thanks for the donation (fuel) I am such dill. You’re a legend.
On the way to Rockhampton we had a phone call from Charles Woolly from the ABC radio station. To have a chat about autism and the ride for autism. Thank you Charles for putting us on air.
Today we are headed to Rockhampton to the Stocklands shopping centre.
We arrived and set up with the help of the Stocklands staff, Celina & Amanda. Greg Jackson & Frank Douglas were there from Lions to also help out. A very successful day with handing out pamphlets and donations. Paul was even handed a donation of $100 as we stopped at a set of lights on the way into town.
A great lunch was organised for us to give us a break from the hectic pace at the stall and we thank Stocklands for that. Lisa from the ANZ drew the raffle for us at the end of the day and we were able to present both winners with their prizes.
Kirk and Paul spent most of the day running back and forth to Spin City Motorcycles where Kevin and the boys worked on the bikes to make sure they are running smoothly.
Michelle and David made us feel right at home at the Tropical Wanderer Big 4. A brand new outstanding cabin was provided for us but once more the boys are sharing so who knows where they will end up.
Tomorrow we head out early for Mackay and hopefully an equally successful day.
All Donations will be gratefully accepted for The Ride 4 Autism at any ANZ Bank.
