Finally we can see the road to home. What a long journey it has been. We have travelled over 6,800km on our quest to make the community aware and understand what Autism is. The people that we came across have been amazing. The generosity, kindness and the stories have been greatly appreciated; I cannot find the words to say how much it means to me.
Today saw us doing our final leg of the journey from Wollongong to Cairns and back. After travelling into Martin Place from Galston where we were staying at Mike and Kay Hughes house (Thank you for all your support, help and opening your house to us for the last two nights), once again we had some minor hiccups along the way. Starting off at 6.00am saw no one on the road, but fog, mist and once again rain. Travelling in to the city we had to stop and put on our RJAY's Wet weather gear, (final a bridge to stop under for cover), we could not see the front of the Scooters or let alone the City from the rain and the fog.
Leaving Martin Place we travelled to Bald Hill to meet up with Illawarra Riders Club, Wollongong Ulysses Club and with mates of Paul, Kirk and myself. After having an interview and pictures taken with the Illawarra Mercury, we head for the Amphitheatre at Wollongong Mall. What a wonderful sight it must have been to see three 125cc Arqin Motor Scooter being escorted into Wollongong by HarleyÕs, Road Bikes and Hot Rods. The crowd that had gather at the amphitheatre to welcome us home was a sight that we thought we would never see. Thank you to the Wollongong Community for the turn out.
On the 2nd of may we have a free rock concert to the public at Lang Park in Wollongong as well as a carnival with amusement rides and market stalls.
And the finally to a amazing series of events a charity black tie dinner at the Novotel north beach. In Wollongong, tickets are now available
I would like to take this opportunity once again to thank all our sponsors.
