The Carnaby is Piaggio’s great high-wheel scooter. Reinforcing the Piaggio tradition in this important market segment, the Carnaby lies half way between the compact Liberty and the Beverly tourer.
The model year 2008 Carnaby 125 and 200 are available in a new range of colour schemes and incorporate a number of design improvements for even greater functionality and elegance.

Pleasing style
Combining good performance and compact size, the Piaggio Carnaby makes a great first impression with its pleasing looks and the instantly comfortable, welcoming feeling it gives you when you get on. It has a gentle, expressive and modern shape. You’ll immediately notice how comfortable the flat footrest platform is for city use. The protective front shield holds an innovative and stylish headlamp unit that matches the Carnaby’s modern lines to perfection.
The 2008 Carnaby features a generous new seat upholstered in a new non-slip material for even greater comfort. At a height of only 790 mm, the seat is a key feature of the Carnaby’s perfect ergonomics, assisted by the scooter’s broad handlebars. A new tinted windshield is mounted on the handlebars to give the 2008 Carnaby an even more elegant look while improving aerodynamic penetration too.
Even the instruments have been updated. The surround is now paint finished to match the scooter’s bodywork in a style evocative of the world of prestige automobiles. A new chrome plated “Carnaby” logo on the handlebars adds to the elegance of the instrument panel.
The Carnaby has also renewed its colour schemes for 2008, and is now available in four elegant finishes: metallic Graphite Black, Pulsar Grey and Andromeda Blue and pastel shade Naiade Ivory.

Technical features
The Carnaby is built around two technically advanced Piaggio Leader engines, a 200cc and a 125 cc unit. These latest-generation engines are fully compatible with the latest and strictest Euro 3 emission standards. Both engines are identical in configuration: 4 stroke, 4 valve, and liquid cooled, and both offer pace-setting power and performance. The 125 cc develops 15 HP, while the 200 cc delivers 21 HP. Generous power is always on tap, right through the speed range, to guarantee a consistently smooth and enjoyable ride and extremely low consumption levels.
The chassis is built around a high strength steel tube frame. The fork features 35 mm stanchions, while at the rear two double acting helical spring shock absorbers offer 4 spring preload settings. This robust chassis, combined with large diameter 16” wheels and generous tyres (110/70 at the front and 130/70 at the rear) guarantees impressive levels of rider comfort and superlative road-holding. Active safety is enhanced by a powerful braking system based on two 260 mm discs with twin piston floating calipers.
An easy to ride, dynamic scooter
The Piaggio Carnaby has been designed from the start to provide an easy, intuitive ride. The engines sprint the scooter ahead while the tyres, brakes and chassis ensure road holding and safety. The shock absorbers are calibrated for maximum rider comfort over all road surfaces. Easy to read analog instruments and intuitive controls complete the package.
Space is intelligently distributed too. Rider and passenger benefit from a broad, comfortably shaped seat (that can be released from the ignition key block). A broad, flat platform and two convenient fold-away passenger footrests promise unrivalled ergonomics. The under-seat bay is big enough to hold a jet helmet and also contains two side pockets for smaller objects.
The leg shield storage compartment can also be fitted with an innovative accessory bag. This fully detachable bag is made from a waterproof and tear-proof synthetic fabric that matches the seat upholstery. Storage has never been so functional!

The innovative, stylish, fold-away leg cover is made from robust waterproof material. The leg cover fits over the radiator air outlets and channels warm air on to your legs, creating your very own microclimate and making the Carnaby a pleasure to ride even during the cold winter months.
The top box is specifically designed for the Carnaby and finished to match its paintwork. The top box is big enough to hold one full face helmet or two jet helmets, and blends in perfectly with the overall design of your scooter. It can be fitted and removed from the luggage rack quickly and easily (no additional mounting plates needed). The single key locking system is operated by the scooter’s own ignition key so there is no need to carry around different keys for vehicle and top box.
The medium height windscreen in impact resistant and chip-proof 4 mm methacrylate comes with an elegant fitting system and hand guards and provides ideal protection against wind and rain.
