Scooter News Piaggio Carnaby 250 i.e. Not for Australian consumption the Carnaby has the injected 250 cc motor shoehorned into its frame.
Piaggio Italy The New Piaggio Carnaby has been released in Italy but due to its lack luster sales it doesn't seem to be in to many other markets in a higher capacity. Hence the new 250 i.e is an Italy only release.
Carrying all the same features as the present 125/200cc model range the new 250i.e. Carnaby differs only in the fact that it gains some extra power.
Piaggio claims 16.3kw and a 160kg weight for the new model.
The flat floor large wheel combination has been a success for the likes of Aprilia who have a similar set up on the Sportcity Range.
In Australia we have a few flat floor, large wheel, high capacity scooters starting from the Bug Espresso and Orion and the likes of the SYM HD200.
In the premium segment the Sportcity 250 i.e still exists but this will soon be joined by the new Derbi Rambla. This model will take up where the Sportcity 200 left off sharing most of what we liked about this honest model.
These models offer the commuter not only a large wheel but also a flat floor area meaning great handling with the added bonus of being able to carry items on the floor of the scooter if required. Its just another reason why we love scooters!
But back to the newly released Carnaby where Piaggio have added the 250i.e motor up from the existing non injected 200cc motor.
With a full range of motors to pick from Piaggio is now able to choose right up to the new 300cc injected platform for its mid capacity scooters with this already in the Nexus 300 and the new Vespa 300 GTS. Lucky Indeed !
