Scooter News ADVERTISEMENT Puegeot FAP Scooters Peugeot meets its Euro Emissions targets through the use of FAP technology refined on its diesel car range.
Scootersales.com.au Peugeot have moved away from expensive Direct Injection Technology for a move towards a Particle Filtration Exhaust system for its 2 stroke scooter range.
But what will this technology mean for 2 stroke scooters?
A 2 stroke scooters tends to be lighter whilst being cheaper to run and maintain. And when comparing capacity on capacity a 2 stroke will outperform its 4 stroke counterpart in acceleration due to its creation of power using fewer strokes. Really a 2 stroke 50 cc scooter would have to be one of the most efficient and fun forms of transport available on our roads today.
What we are seeing though is a trend towards the phasing out of 2 stroke scooter as more and more manufacturers are forced down the 4 stroke path.
So what this will mean for Peugeot is that it can maintain the performance of its scooters whilst moving towards stricter European Emissions Standards. Using a simpler yet smarter oil and fuel injection system along with the FAP Exhaust System this will mean we could see the 2 stroke engine around for a while longer.
Said to be on trial on the Swiss Scooter Market in 2008 expect to see Peugeot 2 stroke scooters using the FAP technology in 2009.
