Fluid PR For the first time in its eight-year history, the Australian Motorcycle Expo Melbourne has completely sold out, with 117 exhibitors, including every major motorcycle manufacturer, set to attend the event next week from October 30 - November 2.
The event has grown from humble beginnings to its current form as the nation's most comprehensive showcase of the newest motorcycle, ATV and scooter models, as well as a complete range of industry accessories, apparel, training, travel and service exhibitors.
In 2008, the event will utilise 15,500sqm of floor space at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Mark Petersen of Exhibitions and Trade Fairs said the event continued to gain momentum each year, boosted by the rising popularity and economic viability of the two-wheeled form of transport.
"The 2008 Australian Motorcycle Expo Melbourne will be the biggest event we've ever staged, and we're excited to announce today that every available site at the event has been completely sold out," said Petersen.
"With all major motorcycle manufacturers on board and an extensive range of exhibitors presenting new products and services, the event really will be a one-stop shop for enthusiasts of all ages.
"In a booming city such as Melbourne, motorcycles and scooters are gaining momentum as a cost-efficient and time-saving method of transport.
"Their popularity continues to increase in country and rural areas as well, with an extensive range of ATVs, side-by-side and agricultural bikes on the market.
"We encourage as many people as possible to come down over the four days and take advantage of the benefits of two wheels, for work or for play."
The 1,000sqm Yamaha Action Arena is back in 2008, with freestyle motocross, trials and mini bike riders set to wow crowds at up to four daily shows.
Other attractions include the East Coast Custom Australian Custom Bike Championships, National Pogo Championships (Motostik), Freerider MX Ultimate Buff giveaway, $15,000 Honda voucher competition and a range of celebrity signings.
Brands including Alpinestars, Shift, Hornee jeans, RST, Dainese, Fox, AGV, KBC, AGV Sport, Unit clothing, Skin Industries and more will be on sale at a huge apparel clearance. Visitors can also snap up a bargain with a range of factory seconds.
