Media Release Benelli Pepe Stoney Creek Powersports has a variety of scooters coming in 2007, the Pepe is just one of them.
Allen Drysdale This from the official Benelli website;
"Pepe" can take on various characteristics, depending on the moment and on how it is used, though always preserving its basic characteristics.
In the same way, the mechanics of this scooter are traditional, whereas the vehicle changes personality with the colours of the bodywork and depending on what is asked, of it.The frame, a "cradle" doubled in the back part, is made from high-tensile steel tubing and acts as a support base for any other components.Even the frame and fork are traditional, but characterized by careful design and, as with the other Benelli models, by excellent quality components.
The braking system is oversized, with a 220 mm. front disk able to stop the vehicle promptly even in sudden emergencies.
This is coupled with light alloy, "petal" design seven-spoke wheels, with differential crowning between the front and rear to make them even more attractive in looks.
Looks and functionality are also seen in the fork, produced by Paioli Meccanica an exclusive Benelli design.
All the facilities are protected by locks operated by the same ignition key. Lifting the saddle gives access to a handy helmet compartment (this will be indispensable in Italy, when the new laws come into force), that can take the open-face models, and which is obtained by use of a special "ring-shaped" petrol tank which surrounds the actual compartment.
Under the saddle, and thus equally protected by key lock, are the petrol tank and mixer oil caps. Lastly, the same key also opens the handy and capacious rear case.
Whenever bigger loads have to be dealt with, there is also the smart fear pack-rack in chromed tubing, on which a wide range of small cases will be fitted at a later stage.
Expect various models within the range at very competitive pricing.
