Eicma 2009 SR50 Replica SBK Dedicated to young people and sporting the same colours as max Biaggi's RSV4 superbike which was a lead contender in the world SBK competition, here are three new replica proposals inspired by the Aprilia world of racing.
Aprilia
Aprilia SR 50, the sportiest 50 cc scooter and the Aprilia RS 50 and RS 125 motorbikes are presented in the livery of the extraordinary Aprilia RSV4 that during its debut season amazed the world with its technology and performance.
In two decades Aprilia has become a sports motorcycling legend: 36 world titles won in the 125 and 250 categories of the World Motorcycling Championship make it the Italian brand holding the most titles of all those in production. And starting this year, with its return to the World Superbike Championship (in which it grabbed 8 victories, 8 pole positions and 26 podiums from 1999 to 2002), Aprilia is once again the leader in the world of great racing motorcycles of modified production. In addition to the sensational victory snagged in Brno, Max Biaggi took the Superbike podium more than 8 times and – as confirmation of the extraordinary competitiveness of the RSV4 during its first season - Marco Simoncelli won another podium during his first and only "excursion" in the world SBK competition at the Imola race.
Aprilia has always carried this legacy of success and technical expertise over into its production models, and the influence of this legacy is evident in the philosophy inspiring its products and in their styling, which is often taken directly from the brand's racing machines.
The SR 50 scooter and RS 50 and RS 125 motorbikes are available in the aggressive graphics that distinguish the RSV4 that Max Biaggi rides.
APRILIA SR 50
The Aprilia SR 50 came off the line in 1992, and immediately stood out as the first scooter with a supersport design in the world. Since then, the Aprilia SR 50 has done nothing but set records: first sporty scooter, first in the racing replica version, first with liquid-cooled engine, first with double disc brake, first 50 cc with electronic injection.
It has always been indebted to the technology of the best sports motorcycles, the Aprilia SR 50 - today available in the two R and R Factory versions - benefits from highly advanced solutions: its unique design, performance and incredibly low consumption - thanks to the 2 stroke Purejet engine with latest generation injection - combine with a sophisticated frame, ideal for a riding style truly close to that of sports motorcycles. Premium suspension components offer superbly effective and progressive damping action, while the 13” wheels (a hallmark of the Aprilia SR since its inception) shod with ultra low profile tyres confirm the technological supremacy and distinct sports character of a scooter without peers.
The APRILIA SR is equipped with a new latest generation Purejet engine. The generous 50 cc 2 stroke single cylinder boasts a long list of updates that improve its operation, optimise its reliability and lengthen its maintenance intervals up to 12,000 km, in fact cutting operating costs.
The 35 watt twin headlamp, motorcycle style electrical blocks, electronic transponder and front dynamic air intake complete the lavish equipment supplied standard.
