Scooter News Vmoto Update 2010 Vmoto distribution changes hands in Australia. The following PR outlines the latest direction.
Vmoto Ltd Vmoto Limited is pleased to announce that it has today entered into a new Australian distribution agreement with StuRay Investments Pty Ltd, a scooter distribution group headed up by internationally recognised motorcycle identity Mr Raymond Rooney.
Pursuant to the Distribution Agreement, which has an initial five year term, Mr Rooney and his team will be responsible for the distribution of all Vmoto scooters, spare parts and merchandise to every state in Australia. The existing dealer network of approximately thirty dealers will remain in place however they will now deal directly with StuRay for all Vmoto products. Discussions are also now taking place with a view to adding a further twenty dealers to the existing network, with a target of sixty dealers in Australia by the end of the 2010 calendar year.
Mr Rooney has extensive distribution experience in the motorcycle industry, gained from ownership of some of Europe’s largest motorcycle dealerships. He has over thirty five years of experience in riding, racing and sales of motorcycles and has worked with such brands as Yamaha, MV Augusta and KTM. Under the new arrangement with Vmoto, Mr Rooney will run a dedicated Vmoto scooter dealership based in Perth, Western Australia, and control the national distribution from his warehouse in Malaga.
Mr Rooney today commented: “We are very excited about taking on Vmoto. It’s a great Australian brand and success story and we are looking forward to regaining the number one position in Australian scooter sales over the coming months. Our whole business focus is now Vmoto and we can dedicate all our resources to ensuring a quality product, spare parts service and back up to our dealer network.”
Vmoto’s Managing Director, Mr Patrick Davin commented “Vmoto welcomes Ray and Stuart and their team for the distribution of Vmoto in Australia. Ray has vast experience in the motorcycle industry and provides an enormous amount of credibility to the brand as we begin to reinvigorate it in Australia. Although Australia is not a huge market for us, it’s important that we have a major presence in our own backyard, and also where we are listed, and with the new team I am confident we can achieve this. Vmoto has always been a fun and exciting brand and we look forward to working with Ray and Stuart to see this reputation maintained. With my relocation to China next week, it’s nice to know I leave the Australian distribution in good hands.”
This new Australian distribution arrangement coincides with the release of three new economical models to the Vmoto range, plus the Company’s first Zero Emission Electric Scooter, anticipated to be released in May 2010. With the new releases, Vmoto will have a total model range of nine scooters, together with the SCARTT all terrain vehicle.
The first containers of new models are scheduled to arrive in Australia late next week and initial orders from dealers are increasing. The existing and new dealer network will have a month or so to “bed in” prior to the anticipated May arrival of Vmoto’s first all electric scooter, manufactured in its own factory in Nanjing, China.
