Piaggio Press European Release Only
Thanks to many exclusive details, this special version offers the same versatility and safety features typical of the MP3 family in a dynamic, decisive looking package enhanced by the white bodywork and contrasting black accents.
The decisive, gritty look of the MP3 LT “Sport” is a savvy mix of elegance – with its sleek white paintwork – and sporting accents provided by the many dark details. Such contrasting elements combine together to convey a feeling of strength and character, anticipating the performance levels of the modern 300cc and 400cc engines.
Among the distinctive features of the new MP3 LT “Sport” are the 10-spoke wheels, the inner coating of the headlight assemblies, the front cowl and passenger handgrips with their gritty, shiny black colour theme, as well as the burnished plates.
The racing look is further enhanced by the protective fumé windshield. The broad, ergonomic saddle provides maximum comfort and ample space for rider and passenger, while its premium materials and red relief stitching make a bold statement about the sporty character of the new MP3 LT “Sport”.
Gritty and eye-catching, Piaggio MP3 LT “Sport” maintains all the advanced solutions, as well as the safe, fun riding characteristics that have made the first three-wheel scooter such an outstanding success.
Piaggio MP3 LT is the ideal solution for all those who know the scooter to be a great solution to their urban mobility needs, but who have never made the change because they do not hold a motorcycle licence: thanks to its larger front track of 465 mm, the Piaggio MP3 LT can be ridden by holders of a normal driver's licence even though it is available with two different powerful 300ie and 400ie engines offering far greater performance than the 125 cc engines to which driver's licence holders were previously restricted.
MP3 LT 300ie “Sport” is equipped with the new water-cooled Piaggio single-cylinder 4-stroke 4-valve 300cc engine with electronic injection, definitely more torquey than its 250cc predecessor (delivering 23.2 Nm at 6,500 rpm compared to the 21 Nm of the 250). On the road, these numbers translate flexibility and pick-up from low speeds that turns any route into a riding pleasure. The brand-new 300 cc also boasts an absolutely impressive technological supremacy: state of the art Ride by Wire technology for electronic throttle control.
The Piaggio MP3 300ie “Sport” does not have any mechanical connection between the throttle grip control and the throttle valve located in the intake duct that modulates the amount of air to mix with the petrol. The result of the electronic control is an optimised air/fuel mixture, which turns into smoother power delivery and therefore into enhanced riding comfort, lower consumption and fewer emissions.
The 400cc Piaggio engine is a 4-valve, 4-stroke unit with liquid cooling and electronic fuel injection. This engine is the top of the LT range with a power output of 34 hp at 7,500 rpm and 37.6 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm.
