Just like the PCX 125, Honda are launching products with the view that they will be sold around the world, not just in one country. The PCX was the first of these concepts, where we now see this model sold worldwide and sourced from Thailand. It was developed with a "one fits all approach".
And it worked, so this concept has spawned the release of the new CBR 250R motorcycle. Again a motorcycle that will be retailed worldwide, built on a massive scale and sold at a very competitive price-point.
Enter the new Honda Vision. Photos will reveal that this is very much the same concept. A design that can be sold worldwide, and no doubt at a competitive price-point. Looking at the styling, the vision looks to be following the same front end family resemblance we see with the current model CBR.
Power is from Honda's 110 cc powerplant, combined with the renowned PGM-FI injection system. Fuel efficiency is the name of the game here, and 50 km/l is being suggested. Big wheels are following on from the success of Honda's SH range in Europe. Still looks to be good under-seat storage and the addition of a flat floor will help.
Really looks like someone at Honda was after a big wheeled, flat floored, commuter scooter, that could be sold at a budget price-point worldwide. Enter the new Honda Vision, said to be released in 2012.
