Scooter News Sporty Yamaha's Released Getting all traditional on us, Yamaha celebrates a couple of milestones, kicking off with the foundation year of 1955.

Yamaha has kept the relationship between race and production alive and kicking by releasing a couple of models in Anniversary colours. Both these models are overseas only, but when it comes to scooters we like to keep you up-to-date.
First is the SP 55 model Aerox that celebrates the year of Yamaha's foundation, that would be 1955. The Aerox comes with special "55" graphics and sports red pin striping on the wheels. Nice work on the three tone seat and the whole package just screams "I'm Sporty".
After you get past the colour scheme, the rest is the Aerox we've already come to know, 50 cc 2 stroke, liquid cooled with twin disc brakes. Other features include 13 inch wheels, adjustable rear shock with reservoir and full under-seat storage. The Aerox no longer resides in the Australian scooter line-up so don't go looking for it at your local dealer.
The next on the list is the Special Edition TMAX, celebrating 50 years of Yamaha's involvement in Grand Prix Racing. Said to be a local model for the Japan Market only, and again not one that we will see here in Australia. Though my guess is that this model will get plenty of interest as it gathers momentum across the web-world. So stay tuned to see if this colour scheme actually finds its way outside the homeland market.
Anyway, I reckon Yamaha have performed a really nice job reflecting the colours of the GP bike. For those interested Yamaha have also put together a nice flash based website totally dedicated to the last 50 years of GP Racing.
