It's Mojo Update Time

By Scootersales.com.au - Sales have started well across the board for 2012. Actually against last year the scooter segment recorded a 14.1% increase over the same January period in 2011. Positive news indeed for a market that has been trending relatively flat for a couple of years now. 

The road bike market recorded a 27.8 % increase over last year, no doubt driven by the learner legal sector. The ATV sector continues to boom with a 33.7% increase over the same period last year.

January Market Update: TGB Scooters

In January, 2012 TGB scooters have continued to hold strong as a scooter brand market leader in Australia. According to retail results just released by industry data specialist, ERG International TGB scooters currently held 11.5% of the scooter market place in January.

In comparison of January 2011 to January 2012, the TGB scooter retails have grown by an impressive 63.8 per cent.

“Over the last 12 months the TGB scooter has dramatically increased our range to ensure there is a model to suit every Australian scooter rider, and our growth is a reflection of this,” says National Sales Manager Alan Collins.

Ranging from a 50cc to a 300cc model, the TGB scooter ranges caters for learner to experience riders nationwide! TGB scooters have been available in Australia for over ten years and continue to provide Australians with a fantastic range of economical and environmental scooters.

Manufactured in Taiwan, TGB scooters are built to the highest quality and customers are supported by a 2 Year Factory Warranty upon purchase.

“TGB scooters offer commuters with world renowned unrelenting reliability and it is because of this we will continue to see the brand grow further,” Collins said.

To further enhance the range TGB will release the Euro styling Bellavita scooter to the Australian market in April this year. Available in a 125cc and 300cc model the Bellavita will bring glamour to the roads boasting a traditional, classic scooter exterior. While the outside may be classic, the Bellavita will boast front and rear disc brakes and electronic fuel injection as standard.

“The Bellavita will be great introduction and will allow the TGB to offer customers a range of sporty commuters and fashion savvy scooters alike,” says National Sales Manager Alan Collins.

February is set to be another month of growth for TGB scooters with a display at the Gold Coast Scooter and Motorcycle Exhibition next week‐ 17th‐19th February, 2012.

“The TGB display at the Show will give customers a good opportunity to see, touch and feel the TGB range and see what all the fuss is about!”

Daelim Market Share Report: January 2012


Daelim motorcycles and scooters finished 2011 with exciting retail results and have continued this growing trend in the first month of 2012. According to results recently released by motorcycle industry data specialist, ERG International, the Daleim brand has grown 620% in comparison to the same time last year.
“2011 saw a relaunch of the Daelim brand,” says National Sales Manager Alan Collins.

“Daelim offers such unique, versatile product designs that it is no wonder in such a short period the word is spreading.”

As Korea’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, Daelim holds an enviable reputation for quality, offering a number of products that have been refined over the organisations thirty year history. Manufacturing over 300,000 vehicles a year it is no wonder Daelim are a global leaders when it comes to advanced technology.

In motorcycles, Daelim is currently represented with the VJF 250 and this model alone grew 70% in sales in January 2012 when compared with the previous time last year. The VJF 250 is a 250cc sports learner approved bike that comes standard with a liquid cooled four‐ stroke DOHC engine and electronic fuel injection. In March, Daelim will be launching new look sticker kits and a gloss black to improve the VJF designs.

With the introduction of the European styled Besbi scooter in late 2011, Daelim scooters have continued to wow the scooter market with a 100% increase in sales since January last year. No retails were recorded for Daelim scooters in January 2011 and now Daelim holds 6.6% of the entire scooter market!

“To hold 6.6% of the scooter market after less than a year is a solid platform for growth during 2012,” says National Sales Manager, Alan Collins.

“Daelim scooters are known for their high‐level Korean quality, well thought out, unique designs and more and more people are recognising this!”

Daelim offers a scooter range varying from a 50cc to a 125cc model.

“In twelve months the Daelim brand has only just begun to show its potential within the market place,” says Alan Collins.

January Market Update: CFMoto


As a new front runner in the Australian motorcycle industry the CFMoto brand has continued to gain more and more market share. Consisting of motorcycles, scooters and ATVs, the complete CFMoto brand has grown 463.3% from this time last year according to data specialist ERG International.

CFMoto ATV’s were officially introduced to the Australian market in early 2011and since then have quickly become a popular fixture on Australian farms everywhere. According to results just released by ERG, in January CFMoto ATVs nabbed 5.8% of the total ATV market in Australia.

“We are excited by the progress of CFMoto ATVs since their introduction in 2011,” says National Sales Manager, Alan Collins. “We are deadly serious when we say that CFMoto offer the best value ATVs on the market and we do not expect the growth to slow down any time soon.”

“The ongoing growth of the brand comes down to the fact that CFMoto ATVs are manufactured for Aussie conditions, offering industry‐leading reliability matched with industry‐leading value.”

CFMoto manufacturing is based in Hangzhou, China, and while a relatively new brand in Australia, has an established global network. Annually, CFMoto manufactures over 600, 000 vehicles.

In January, CFMoto motorcycles and scooters also recorded strong retail results, capping off a solid across‐the‐board effort from the Chinese marquee in Australia.

According to the latest release ERG data, CFMoto motorcycles have grown a whopping 266.7% on this time last year. This growth is a reflection of the growing motorcycle product range that offers fantastic entry level bikes at unbeatable price points.

In March this year CFMoto will be launching the all‐new X‐Lander 800 to the Australian market. This powerful 800c model is an exciting development in the CFMoto ATV range.
