Scooter News EMC Scooters No need to wait for the future it's just about here. E-Max Electric Scooters have landed!
Allen Drysdale EMC Scooters is the distributor for E-Max the number one electric scooter in Europe where it is seen as a real petrol scooter alternative.
The first model to be sold in Australia is the E-max Sport for 2990 +orc
It is complied like most other 50 cc scooters meaning those in the liberal licensing states can ride the E-Max Sport on a normal car license while those in other less liberal states will need a normal scooter/motorcycle license.
The E-Max Sport is powered by a 4000 watt motor and is capable of speeds up to 60 km/h. Pretty impressive hey!
The E-Max Sport in its initial set up will be restricted to 45 km/h but a short 15 minute session by the dealer will transform the scooter giving it the potential for 60 km/h.
The future is bright as E-Max has a full range of scooters to be released in 4 various motor sizes. And the real world results are very impressive.
The 90 S and 110 S (50cc class)have powerful 4,000 Watt motors with long-lasting silicon batteries. They cover a distance of 60-80 km with a top speed of 65 km/h, tuned-down for the powers at be to 45 km/h.
A 100% recharge with two chargers takes just 3 hours.
The 140 L model also comes with a 4,000 Watt motor designed for a top speed of 65 km/h. This speedy scooter is equipped with a high performance lithium-ion battery that generates 7.9 hp and enables an impressive range of over 160 km. The next e-max model 190 L in the 125cc scooter class is currently in the pipeline. It will have the world’s first 7,000 Watt motor with a hair-raising top speed of 100 km/h!
Each e-max scooter is equipped with a turbo booster for extra power. With this the 90 S puts out a maximum of 4.9 hp, the 110 S an impressive 5.9 hp, while the 140 L churns out a remarkable 7.9 hp. Each of the e-max series scooters radiates with perfection marked by practical and convenient features like a well-designed console with LCD and analog displays of the battery charge and speed, oil pressure hydraulic shocks, hydraulic disc brakes, and a special frame.

These scooters are real alternatives to petrol driven scooters and with years of testing in Germany the battery life is quite impressive.
Each E-Max model will come with a two year warranty and is available in a range of colours.
A full range of E-Max scooters will be available most likely some time in the second half of 2007. EMC Australia is displaying its full range at the upcoming Perth Motorcycle and Scooter show so we will have more news shortly.
In the next edition of "Scooter", Jeremy tests the E-max Sport.
