Scooter News Vectrix Electric Vectrix is now in full swing and only months away from launching a final product into the Australian market
Allen Drysdale In Sydney promoting the new Vectrix scooter to the public and the trade alike the scooter has impressed those that have ridden the current development version.
I was lucky enough to be able to ride the Vectrix for the first time and I have to say that for its intended purpose it does everything it says it will do and more.
First impressions are that you can feel the millions of dollars that have gone into the investment of developing the Vectrix Electric.
The Vectrix easily keeps up with traffic, accelerates up hills and quietly comes to a stop using the reverse throttle feature. The Brembo brakes are a total overkill and only used to steady yourself when stopping or for emergency uses.
Turn the key, touch the brakes and twist the throttle,GO!. Simple and easy.
Vectrix have a full range of scooters and even a motorbike under development. Vectrix MD Charles Mann stated "We are even only a year away from being able to retro fit current Vectrix scooters with Fuel Cell technology that will provide an increased range for the Vectrix Electric by about 4 times".
The Vectrix will not suit everybody and I must admit I don’t think it pretends too but what it does do is everything it says it will. For those that want a real green alternative this is it, zero emissions and real world capability.
Check out the Vectrix sitting in front of Sydney’s Balmoral Beach , by the way if you know Awaba st at all the Vectrix accelerated up it at a brisk pace. If you don’t know it think of a very long steep hill and know that the Vectrix climbs to the top just as good as any large capacity scooter on the market today.
This month’s scooter magazine has an extended test of the Vectrix scooter.
