Honda Australia Rider Training

Hart to open in Brisbane

Honda Australia

Honda Australia Rider Training (HART) has announced that, in the near future, they will be opening a training centre in the Brisbane Metropolitan area to deliver motorcycle licensing and additional enhanced skills programs.

HART have regularly trained Australia Post staff in Queensland for the past eight years. They also previously delivered public training between 1999 and 2002 at a temporary training facility in Mt. Cotton.

The new centre will be a dedicated training range for learner to advanced courses, as well as Australia Post training, and will be the premier venue of its kind in the state.

“Queensland has become the largest motorcycling state in Australia,” said HART’s National Manager Mark Collins.

“HART is the leading rider training provider, so it makes good sense to open a centre there that caters for road and off road riders regardless of their experience.”

“The State Government has also initiated the Travelsafe Inquiry into motorcycle safety which shows they are committed to improving the situation for motorcyclists.”

“For these reasons, we believe this is a critical time to become involved there,” Collins added.

With industry leading technology and world class instructors, Collins believes HART can have a positive impact on motorcycle safety and influence training standards in the Sunshine state.

“The timing of the new centre in Brisbane coincides with our contract to deliver our 'Road Skills' course in conjunction with the Gold Coast City Council (GCCC),” Collins said.

The GCCC program aims to improve the ‘real-world’ riding skills of local motorcyclists through offering them training on the road in small groups.

Along with the ACT, Tasmania and Yarra Shire Ranges (VIC) where HART is already conducting similar programs, GCCC has recognised the need to offer professional instruction for licensed riders in order to increase their chances of dealing with challenging conditions effectively.

“Between GCCC’s subsidised on-road programs and the Brisbane HART centre being opened, riders of all levels and ages will have access to a wide variety of beginner to advanced courses” Collins said.

HART which already operates in Victoria and NSW, is Australia's leading rider training company delivering state-of-the-art teaching methods to over 16,000 riders each year.

They are the only rider training company in Australia to use rider simulators to improve Hazard Perception.

HART is fully owned and run by Honda Australia who, apart from being a subsidiary of the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer, is also one of the world’s largest trainers of motorcyclists.
