Scooter News Yamaha YP250 Majesty When Yamaha introduced the
Majesty, no one could have guessed the impact the first super scooter was going to have
- When the Majesty was first released in 1998 it was heralded as the most luxurious and competent large-capacity scooter ever seen. It was designed to offer a comfortable ride to riders who mainly relied on car, trains and buses for transport. Through fitting a 250cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke motor and fully automatic V-belt transmission Yamaha got more than they bargained for. The Majesty soon became the most competent scooter around, laying the foundation for a new class of scooter to arise, the maxi-scooter.
The Majesty allowed the ease of inner-city commuting with more luggage-carrying ability than you could get from any other comparable vehicle. More importantly, if you so desired, the Majesty was also just as capable of travelling large distances comfortably.
Highway speeds are a breeze on the Majesty, though you’ll never feel a breeze courtesy of the all-weather protection the front of the scooter offers.
Fuel capacity is 11 litres which teamed with the comfortable pillion and rider seats, makes commuting large distances easy. And with a weight of 147kg and seat height of 700mm it is surprisingly accommodating for most riders too.
Features like a park brake, fuel tank in between the rider’s legs and the loads of storage space make the Majesty one of the most rider friendly scooters around.
