Scooter Review Bolwell(PGO) PMX Sport Hands up who wants a stunt scoot?
- It had to happen. It seems that inside every scooter rider there’s a stunt rider waiting to get out. Italjet recognised this and released the 125 Formula and the 180 Dragster, two high-performance scooters with radical styling and power to burn. Gilera recognised it, too, and the Runner even has an Italian national championship race series held on full-length circuits. Now Bolwell has got into the act with the arrival of the PMX Sport, a 110cc two-stroke hooligan machine.
With styling to match the punchy performance, the PMX was the machine of choice for silliness at the recent Bolwell release, with wheelies and stoppies aplenty from the assembled dealers.
The PMX comes with an open storage bin in front of your knees, as well as the usual lockable storage compartment under the seat and luggage hooks. The two-stroke engine has a catalytic converter in the exhaust to cut emissions and, with the scooter’s dry weight of a scant 89kg, will offer quite a bit of zip in the cut and thrust of city traffic.
Both rider and pillion benefit from alloy anti-slip foot pads, while the pillion also gets a handy grab-rail which doubles as a point for tying gear down.
So, if zippy commuting (and the ability to pull some tricks) are what you are looking for, the PMX Sport goes beyond the cutprice commuting bracket, combing cheap transport with a bit of fun.
