Parramatta motorcycle dealers Bikebiz are proud to announce their continued support for the sixth annual Bikebiz Bushfire Brigade Bash as the motorcycling community joins forces to raise much needed funds for the Lithgow and District Rural Fire Service.
“We have been very happy with the number of riders and motorcycles that have attended this event and obviously we wish to improve on our past results,” said Bikebiz’s Mark Condon, who along with Ray “Robbo” Robinson has been the driving force behind the event. “It all came about after sitting in front of the Tele and watching the devastating fires in the Blue Mountains in 2001,and realising that these ordinary everyday people were putting their lives on the line to protect their neighbours and their communities. Along with giving up the free time required, to train so as to know how to react to these horrendous situations that they were placing themselves in.
I was talking to Robbo about feeling guilty in my safe but smokey home, stuck in front of the Tele watching people risk it all only a two hour ride / drive away.
The next day Robbo came up with the idea that we put together a ride to show our support and appreciation, so its all evolved from there”.
Robbo along with Alan Gerke (Captain of Portland RFS) and Bikebiz are proud to be involved in developing this into one of the major rides on the motorcycling calendar. We also need to thank the Lithgow City Council for their support in assisting with the venue and all that is involved with getting us all there. We hope this rides grows and evolves into a major event in the motorcycling community.
As has been the case since its inception the ride is open to all makes, models and genders, with generous support from Yamaha, Aprilia, Triumph and Hyosung. Additional support comes from Yamaha TRIBE and members of BOAB.
Bikebiz have a set a target of raising $10,000 from the ride, so to help achieve their goal, we ask that as many motorcyclists get behind it as they can.
