Scooter News ADVERTISEMENT How's Things? 1st Quarter 2007 Scooter Market Wrap
Allen Drysdale The Scooter Market has been growing strongly now for a couple of years with a sales increase last year of 43% and the year before totaling over a massive 70%.
Well how is the market going this year? I thought we would compare the first quarters results this year with where we were at last year at the end of the same period!
All the drivers like fuel prices, traffic and increased parking hassles are all still evident in the capital cities and beyond. The increased pressure on governments to become green leaders is also becoming a factor in what is a sector of transport that can hold the answer to many of the issues facing our cities and towns today.
One sticking point for the entire Scooter Market is licensing and the differing in government’s inconsistent practices across all states.
Below we have a wrap of the Market in total along with charts showing break ups by Brand, State and the total Two-Wheeled Segment of which scooters still takes a lead.
