Scooter News Well done Clover! Sydney's CBD to become scooter-friendly. This may be the biggest news in Australian Scooter History!
Allen Drysdale The following in bold below is a news article lifted from www.smh.com.au . The news that scooters may be looked at as serious alternatives to Sydney’s worsening traffic crisis is a huge step in the right direction. With pressures on parking, congestion and a series question about environmental impacts of cars the time's right to act on these growing issues facing Sydney.
Scooter sales over the past few years have grown dramatically with this year looking like it will replicate the previous year’s increases. The issue that now faces the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) is a series lack of Scooter Specific training courses and time delays in getting your license across the Sydney CBD. It has been reported that some people have waited up to 3 months just to get into a learner course.
If Clover does change the face of Sydney’s transportation system let’s hope somebody at the RTA starts doing some homework and lifts the dire need for extra Scooter Specific license courses.

Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore plans to introduce a scheme to encourage commuters to take scooters to the city.
Council traffic planners will examine ways to encourage greater use of motor-cycles and scooters as an alternative to cars.
Planners are also looking at dedicating free footpath parking to scooters, News Limited reports.
Ms Moore, who was in New York for a mayoral climate summit last week, told delegates about Sydney's efforts to increase the volume of bicycle traffic.
"We're encouraging Sydneysiders to get out of their cars and start cycling," Ms Moore said.
The latest City of Sydney proposal follows the release of a cycling strategy and preparations for a similar plan to promote walking.
