All about GENERIC
A run down on the history and future visions of GENERIC
GENERIC began in 2004 as a new, innovative brand in the bike industry. However, the origins of this Austrian company go back to 1996, when the former Kirschenhofer GmbH expanded its distribution business to include vehicles. Located in Krems, Lower Austria, the company has continued to expand its production and development right up to the present day. GENERIC products are now exported to 30 European countries, and overseas markets are expected to open up in the near future.
2001 Opening of the first branch office outside Europe
2003 Formation of GENERIC Motor GmbH as a wholly-owned subsidiary of KSR Group GmbH
2004 Opening of the fifth branch in Asia
2008 Market launch of the first GENERIC scooter to be fitted with a water-cooled automatic engine
2010 A further milestone in GENERIC's company history: Introduction of the first motorbikes to be fitted with a proprietary LCF125 engine
GENERIC stands for much more than just innovative vehicles. Our aim is to develop efficient solutions which will serve our customers' mobility needs whilst also offering individuality and reliability. By opting for GENERIC, customers are also opting for relaxed, quick and versatile urban mobility, easy management of their daily urban routine, and hassle-free travel every day – seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
Our customers' wish to achieve this absolute freedom is always at the forefront of our minds. So, at every stage of development, whether on an existing product or a new product, we work tirelessly to realise our vision, and ultimately, in the not too distant future, to grow GENERIC into one of Europe's leading brands for small-engined scooters and motorbikes.
We think in terms of solutions, not problems. We therefore accept the challenge of facilitating day-to-day urban travel, but in doing so, we also use our products to demonstrate ways in which urban mobility can move forward.
- Urban agility:
Every vehicle we develop is designed to be simpler, more versatile, more manageable and more agile than any other – particularly in the midst of city centre chaos. Urban agility is a basic GENERIC feature which brings key advantages to day-to-day urban life with both speed and individuality.
For us, design is much more than packaging. Our designers understand what it is to convert our core values, such as user-friendliness, workmanship and taste, on a 1:1 basis into an innovative and attractive model. This design is what makes us different – at first glance and at every glance thereafter.
Together with our design team, we devise and develop intelligent solutions which we then use to ensure that every GENERIC vehicle can be relied upon to secure a trouble-free motorised future for our customers.
Only those who strive for success will achieve it. That is why we never stop striving. It is only by ensuring ongoing development at the highest technical level and continuous optimisation of our products that we can guarantee our customers the best possible chance of a carefree future.
Our position is our difference. We stand out from the crowd thanks to the versatility and intelligent functionality of our vehicles as the perfect partner for city mobility. We attach great importance to combining all the latest technology with an extra dose of driving pleasure. And we incorporate these elements into every one of our vehicles – by introducing appealing handling, balanced ergonomics and top-grade fittings.
GENERIC products are different and unique. In all their forms, they are an accurate reflection of the values of a modern, urban lifestyle. Reality-turned-lifestyle for the here and now – always with the focus on quality and long service life. To achieve this, we comply with the most stringent of quality standards, we operate a close-knit Europe-wide service network, we provide a warranty and we carry out endurance tests in accordance with strict European standards.
