The red dot awards, inaugurated in 1955, are one of the world's
leading design awards with a jury of international design experts
rewarding outstanding design in 19 different categories.
Amongst the winners were BMW Motorrad's new Maxi-Scooters which
were selected for their design clarity; the unmistakable formal
design language evident in these scooters links both models to BMW
Motorrad, but in their own distinctive style. The C 600 Sport with
its sporty fairing and striking edges creating a dynamic look even
when stationary. The C 650 GT with a design that emphasises its
comfort and touring orientated configuration. These models are due
to be launched in Australia later this year
The K 1600 GT opens up a new concept in touring motorcycles. It
has an unmistakable and imposing presence that redefines the class.
The G 650 GS received the red dot for its lightweight, go anywhere
adventure looks that is in keeping with the BMW Motorrad GS
The important awards delighted General Manager BMW Motorrad
Australia and New Zealand, Tony Sesto.
