Kymco People GTi300
Now in dealers, the much anticipated Kymco GTi300 has arrived in Australia.
Kymco People GTi300 Arrives
We’ve been waiting for this one for a while now, the People GTi300 from Kymco. The GTi300 shares the same engine as seen in Kymco’s Downtown 300. The engine is renowned for producing plenty of grunt, it’s almost 300 cc in capacity and outputs just over 21 kilowatts, so it's fair to say the GTi should be a real powerhouse.
Other features include 16 inch wheels at either end. Disc brakes can be found on both front and rear, though unfortunately the GTi comes without the option of ABS. Storage is helped by coming standard with a rear colour coded top box, there’s a flat floor with bag hook, and a small amount of room under the seat.
From a size perspective the People GTi300 is fairly roomy and comfortable and comes with an upright seating position. Suspension is fully adjustable on the rear, dual shocks with the normal telescopic arrangement up front. The dash is a funky mix of analogue and digital.
The People GTi300 has been priced competitively at $5990 plus on road costs and given the Australian market doesn’t currently have a 16 inch wheeled, flat floored scooter on the market, this is the gap the GTi300 should help fill immediately.
Initial impressions are positive, the GTi300 literally hammers with endless power available everywhere - and it's vibration free. It’s a bit larger than I was first anticipating but once rolling there’s a good blend of both agility and comfort. The GTi would make a top shelf commuting option.
